Frequently Asked Questions.

How long do your session’s run for?

I always allow up to two hours for a newborn photography session they are run according to the needs of your baby. If baby needs to be fed, changed and snuggled with then that is what happens.

How do we prepare for the session and what should we bring?

We provide a session guide when you book with us!

How do we select the photographs that we love?

At the end of your session, I upload the images to my computer within 48 hours and you will be able to choose the images you love the most. At the beginning it can seem a little overwhelming as you will see around 50-80 images. Payment is required at the end of this session.

How long will it take for me to receive my order?

The average time for me to edit and upload your finished digital images is 10 business days. Any print products will take around 2-3 weeks to arrive from my professional print labs. I do ask that you pick up your printed products from me after they arrive. I prefer to be able to do my own quality control and so you can be assured that your product is perfect.

Do you have a ‘Working with Children's Check’ and current vaccinations?

Absolutely! It is law in the Northern Territory that Commercial Photographers who work with children, are required to have a ‘Working with Children's Check’. I am also up to date with my Whooping Cough and do receive the complex flu vaccinations at the start of the flu season each year.

What if I need to reschedule?

I do completely understand. I've had families need to go back into hospital, or severe weather that means we can’t go to locations for family session. While my booking fee is non-refundable, I certainly will transfer that to one other date.

Are parent and sibling photographs included in each session?

Yes. Every session includes the opportunity for parents and the siblings to be photographed.

What is the file size?

My main camera Canon 5D Mark III (22mp) will produce amazing quality images. File sizes will always vary as it depends on the amount of information in the image. Images of your newborn on a simple background will be a smaller file size as there is less information. A full family portrait will be a bigger file size as there is more information in the image. However, the files you receive from me will comfortably print at 20x30inches (or more) in size. The files you receive will be .JPG’s converted from .CR2 files. The .CR2 files are hand edited, sharpened for print and delivered to you as a .JPG as it is the most common and easily stored and printed file type. I do not watermark my images.

Can we have the RAW or unedited files?

Unfortunately not, when you come to a professional photographer, you really are looking for the end product. I am educated and trained in all aspects of photography and editing. My final edited images are what I sell and provide to you. A RAW file’s only use is to be edited and converted into smaller file types. Photography is my art, and I wont provide or sell any file that I don’t consider of professional standard and something that I am proud of.

Can we share and print the files that we purchase?

Of course you can! When you purchase digital files from me, you are able to print and share them with who ever you like. The limitations are that you are not able to edit, add filters or crop the images. You cannot enter them into competitions, use them for marketing, sell or profit from the images or give the rights to the files or prints.
